A lawn care Columbia S.C. company ran into some very bad luck back on October 26. Some bad guys stole their living. Thieves took the Samuel’s family entire income when they stole their truck and trailer full of landscaping equipment.
As a small Columbia S.C. lawn care company, Vernon Samuel’s company, Top Notch Lawn Care, relied on his one landscape of rig of tools to support himself and his wife Lafabia. It was also the only source of income to pay for the breast cancer treatment that Lafabia is still undergoing.
“Just the idea of knowing now that our source of income has been taken away from us because I’m unable to work is heart-wrenching,” said Lafabia.
The Samuels have also done their part in looking for the stolen merchandise. “We also took it into our hands to ride around in the neighborhood to see if we locate our property,” said Lafabia. “However, we have not had any success with doing so.”
The Samuel’s may be down, but they are far from out. Their plight attracted the attention of a company that specializes in SEO services for companies involved in the lawn service field. Green industry marketing consultant, Craig Borglum, said “When I saw the story, my heart went out to them. Here is a hard working guy, just trying to make the bills, and also having to pay for expensive chemotherapy for his wife, and he gets his entire livelihood taken from him in one moment. As those of us involved in landscaper marking know, a website that ranks for your local business keywords is imperative in the new digital climate. We decided to help because we are uniquely qualified to do so. The SEO optimized lawn business website we built is already on the first page of Google, and we expect it to be number 1 in the next six months. When it gets to the top of the SERP’s for their keywords, we expect Top Notch Lawn Care to quickly recoup their losses.”

Just like Atlanta, sprinkler system companies in Sarasota are very busy in July. Most will have a waiting list, and they will get there when they can. For that reason, it is a good idea to have your irrigation checked out in Florida in January before the dry season hits.
So, what should be included in this “lawn sprinkler tune up?”
Here is a quick check list:
Have the Sarasota sprinkler company check your controller first. Are your legal watering days programmed correctly for Sarasota County watering days? If so, that is a good first step. Next, let’s look at the watering times or zone duration. Are the different types of sprinkler heads set for different watering durations? If not, we have problems.
A quick “rule of thumb” is (and this varies do to nozzle size, sun/shade/ and many other things) the rotors (heads that turn) should run three times as long as the sprays (heads that don’t turn, sometimes called “misters”) and the drip (depending on type:jet sprays, bubblers, micro bugs, Netafim) should run for an hour.
As in all “rule of thumb” calculations) these guidelines are in place only to inform you of systems that are way out of whack, i.e: all zones are the same run time. The only way to truly understand all the variables involved in zone run times is to have a Landscape Irrigation Water Audit.
Sorry “tuna can” test advocates. Those results means almost nothing. Far better than the “cat food can test” is personal observation.
Things to ask a Sarasota sprinkler company are:
1. Are you licensed with Sarasota County? If so, what is your license number?
2. Are your workers covered by Florida Workman’s Compensation?
3. Does the lawn irrigation company have liability insurance?
Then have them check the backflow preventor, the angle of the sprinklers and all the other normal tests.
If you follow these tips, hopefully you will not need sprinkler repair Sarasota.

Roswell, GA Lawn Sprinkler Service? Yes! Atlanta Sprinkler Repair services all of North Atlanta irrigation needs. We at ASR are constantly getting calls from new customers that have let their Landscaping company repair their irrigation system, with very bad results! It is not wise to trust something as expensive as your irrigation system to a landscaper that is learning as they go, on your dime. I have landscapers calling me all the time asking questions about how to repair one of their mistakes. Most landscaping companies think if you can change out a rotor or a spray-head that you are an Irrigation Technician. Nothing could be further from the truth! If you have ever looked inside of one of your valve boxes you will see elecrical wires running to them. Do you want someone that cuts grass, trims bushes, plants flowers and trees to work on the electrical wiring to irrigation system? NO! Please don’t let yourself fall for the line something along the lines of ” We can do irrigation repair” or ” We can do it all”. Don’t believe it for one minute!
In Roswell, GA this morning I had a landscaper call me, and wanted us to come out and repair an electrical problem that he caused, and tell the homeowner that we do work for him. I told him that he should’nt be doing irrigation work if he didn’t know what he was doing. He was in a desperate situation and needed it repaired quickly to satisfythe homeowner. I told him that the only way I would do it was if I dealt directly with the homeowner, without him”the landscaper” involved at all! I had a technician out to repair our “new customers” electrical problem within the hour. If you need your grass cut, hedges trimmed, flowers planted call a landscaper, but if you need irrigation repairs, call Atlanta Sprinkler Repair at 770-900-9862.
It has been a cold winter for Atlanta sprinklers. Even my friend Craig down at Sarasota sprinkler repair told me they had freezing weather this year. Due to the harsh winter, I’ve been repairing a lot of broken pipes and backflow preventers. I try to explain to folks that they should winterize their irrigation systems. Some listen, some don’t.
Spring is thankfully right around the corner. It will be time to watch the daffodils come up and plan for the hot summer that is sure to follow. Part of those plans should include preparing your lawn sprinklers so that you do not waste water or have to re-sod your grass in July due to poor coverage.
For those of you that like to DIY, here are some basics for tuning up your lawn sprinkler systems here in Atlanta.
First, turn on each irrigation zone and do a walk through. If you are inspecting a rotor zone, take the time to make sure every head is turning. Watch for overspray and adjust accordingly, especially along the road. If you are looking at a spray zone, pay close attention to the nozzle distribution pattern. If a pop up spray head seems partially clogged, tap it lightly with a screwdriver handle while it is operating. This will sometimes discharge the clog. If that does not work, nozzle replacement is your only option.
Next, look at the coverage. Each sprinkler head should throw water all the way to the adjoining sprinkler heads. This is known as “head to head” coverage. If the spacing is too far, I know some techniques that we could try before going to the expense of adding heads.
So here is to another summer in the great city of Atlanta. I hope, as my friend at Sarasota sprinkler repair likes to say “you are as happy as a Seagull with a French fry.”

After seeing winter hit us early in 2009, our customers started scheduling winterization appointments with us around the end of Septemberof 2010. It could also irrigation electric valve leaking that is under ground in a valve box and you not notice it for some time.
